Solar Water Heating system are of Two types 1. Flat Plate Type Solar Collector 2. Evacuated Glass tube type Solar collectors Below are working principle for solar water heater system: • Thermosyphon system : Natural circulation by gravity. • Force Flow system : forced circulation by pump. a) Thermosyphon – Water in solar tank circulates naturally through the collectors due to the difference in specific gravity of hot and cold water. In this system, the temperature cannot be controlled, and as hot water is used from the tank b) Forced Flow – The flow in this system is controlled through a control panel with digital temperature controller and pump. The cold water is circulated through the solar collectors and allowed to stay there until the set temperature is reached. Once set temperature is reached then the pump comes on and pushes the heated water into the storage tank. The entire system is automated and hence it has to rely on electricity supply. The
